Empowering Leadership: WAN Aid and Waging Peace Host Successful Workshop in Cardiff
In October 2024, WAN Aid, in partnership with Waging Peace, held a successful one-day leadership workshop at the Oasis Centre in Cardiff. The event was part of ongoing efforts to empower Sudanese asylum seekers, refugees, and the broader Sudanese community in the UK through education and community engagement.
Waging Peace is a UK-based non-profit organization committed to supporting Sudanese individuals by offering a wide range of services, including advocacy, educational programs, and integration support. This workshop marked a strong collaboration between the two organizations, bringing together their shared mission to uplift and educate.
The leadership workshop focused on helping participants develop a solid understanding of leadership principles, explore different personality types, and learn practical ways to lead effectively in both personal and community settings. Dr. Bushra from Waging Peace facilitated the session, delivering the content with professionalism, clarity, and warmth making the material accessible and engaging for all attendees.
Twenty-five women participated in the workshop. The response was overwhelmingly positive twenty-three participants expressed strong interest in attending similar events in the future. Each attendee received a certificate of participation, and all workshop materials were shared with participants for future use and reflection.
